The Biglerville and Susquehannock boys' tennis teams played a match on Monday that none of the players will ever forget.

The Canners and Warriors dueled for 61/2 hours at Wisehaven Tennis Club to determine which team would advance to the District 3 Class AA Team Tournament.

Three of the five singles matches and one of the two doubles matches required the maximum three sets.

When the last point was finally played, Biglerville had earned a 4-3 victory and a chance to compete in districts.

The Canners, trailing 3-2 after the singles, swept both of the doubles matches to come out on top.

Cole Herzing and Nate Long won, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles for the Adams County school, and Adam Schrider and Kyle Freeman triumphed, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 2 doubles.

Herzing and Long also won in singles.

Zach Hanson, Dan Ferraro and Shane Bookhultz recorded singles victories for the Warriors.

Biglerville will next play York Suburban on Wednesday. The winner will enter district play as the No. 1 seed from the York-Adams League. The loser will be the No. 2 seed from the local league.
