The Central York Panthers wasted little time in earning a non-league softball victory over visiting Carlisle on Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers plated 15 runs by the bottom of the third and shut down the visitors' offense to capture a 15-0 three-inning victory that was ended early because of the 15-run mercy rule.
Angie Delisle led the Panthers, going 3-for-3, including a double, to go with four RBIs. Jordyn Miller went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Central, while Courtney Hastings had a triple and double with three RBIs. Kayla Resh went 2-for-2, including a double, to go with two RBI's, while Taylor Rohrbaugh hit a double at the plate and pitched a three-inning shutout on the mound to pick up the win.
Central improved to 8-2.
GOV. MIFFLIN 10, WEST YORK 0: At Shillington, Gov. Mifflin pitchers Jayme Babczak and Stef Kramer combined on a two-hit shutout. Kayla Michael and Paige Runkle had the West York hits, both singles. The home team, meanwhile, racked up 12 hits, seven of which went for extra bases. The umpires stopped the game after 41/2 innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
