Dallastown stormed back from a 2-1 deficit to down visiting Central York in boys' volleyball action on Tuesday night, 25-17, 22-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-12.
The Wildcats improved to 5-2 in York-Adams League action, while Central -- the defending PIAA Class AAA state champion -- fell to 4-2 in the league.
Barrett Wingard pounded out 18 kills to lead the winners, while Derek Peiffer dished out 43 assists. Eric Swartz (10 digs, seven kills) and Justin Barnett (12 kills) also had big nights for the Wildcats.
Central's stat leaders were Spencer Ortmyer (15 kills, 24 assists), Royce Clemens (15 kills), Josh Van Wyk (nine kills) and Dylan Hose (27 assists, six digs).
Central won the JV match, 25-8, 23-25, 15-12.
OTHER BOYS' VOLLEYBALL
DOVER 3, SUSQUE HANNOCK 1: At Glen Rock, the Eagles grabbed a 25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16 triumph. Dover was led by Ryan Lamparter (14 kills, five blocks, five digs, four aces), Brandon Knowe (34 assists) and Brendan Warren (12 digs, seven kills). The Warriors' stat leaders were Alex Miller (13 kills), Thomas Bonitz (12 digs, seven kills), Jon Rouse (25 assists, 12 digs) and Thomas Michels (15 digs). Dover improved to 6-1 in the York-Adams League.
SPRING GROVE 3, NEW OXFORD 0: At New Oxford, the Rockets rolled to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-19 triumph behind Aaron Hoff (12 kills, 10 digs), Drew Blecher (nine digs, 19 assists, four kills) and Dalton Hall (16 digs). New Oxford was paced by Tyler Steckbeck (eight digs, eight kills) and Ross Starner (10 digs). Spring Grove won the JV match, 25-18, 25-6.
NORTHEASTERN 3, RED LION 0: The host Bobcats won in three games, 25-18, 25-13, 25-17. Northeastern was led by Luke Braswell (21 assists, six digs, three kills, one block) and Phillip White (15 digs, eight kills). Dalton Fishel (25 digs, three kills) paced Red Lion. The Bobcats improved to 6-0 in York-Adams League play. In junior varsity, Red Lion won, 25-22, 25-20.
KENNARD-DALE 3, EASTERN 1: At Wrightsville, Donald Walters and Nate Ellis combined for 31 kills to help power the Rams past the Golden Knights, 25-22, 25-10, 20-25, 25-22. K-D's Alex Caldwell supplied 33 assists. Bryan Sloat and Tyler Himes filled the stat sheet for Eastern. Sloat put up 24 assists, 14 digs, four kills, two blocks and one ace, and Himes recorded 16 digs, four kills, three assists, three blocks and one ace. Mike Bair pounded 11 kills for the Golden Knights, and Brian Eifert made 21 digs. Eastern won the JV match, 25-8, 25-16.
YORK SUBURBAN 3, WEST YORK 0: At West York, the visitors rolled to a 25-8, 25-9, 25-11 triumph. Ryan Bury (20 assists), Jacob Kauffman (nine kills, seven aces) and Jaryd Eshler (eight kills, eight digs) led the Trojans. The West York stat leaders were Brett Strickler (four assists, two digs) and Josh Rinehart (four digs). Suburban improved to 6-0 in York-Adams League action.
