The Central York and Dallastown softball teams maintained their hold on the top two spots in York-Adams Division I on Wednesday afternoon.

The Panthers (5-2 overall) remained alone in first in Division I at 5-1 after beating Red Lion, 5-3.

Dallastown (7-1 overall) stayed just a half game behind the Panthers at 4-1 after downing New Oxford, 8-4.

At Red Lion, Central collected 10 hits to back the pitching of Taylor Rohrbaugh, who checked the Lions on four hits while striking out six and walking seven. Jordan Miller had a double for the Panthers, who never trailed in the game after scoring two runs in their first at bat. Megan Chapman belted a solo homer for Red Lion.

At New Oxford, Dallastown used a six-run second as a springboard to the road victory. In the big inning, Julia Snyder delivered a triple and Kayla Merriman had a double. Merriman finished with two doubles and two RBIs and teammate Jenna Eckenrode collected three hits, two of them triples, and drove in one run. Lindsey Miller homered and singled twice for the Colonials. Kelsey Collins earned the win for Dallastown. Collins struck out seven and didn't issue any walks.

KENNARD-DALE 7, DOVER 0: At Fawn Grove, K-D pitcher Desi Joines shut down Dover on one hit while striking out 16. Sam Mann broke up Joines' bid for a no-hitter with a double in the fifth. Rachael Delawder had a triple and two RBIs for the Rams, and Joines and Julia Darrigo supplied triples. Emily Hill stroked a RBI double for the winners.

SPRING GROVE 9, NORTHEASTERN 1: At Manchester, Spring Grove pitcher Erika Heck struck out 11 and took a shutout into the seventh. The Rockets gave Heck all the runs she needed by scoring four times in the third. Nikki Filbey supplied two hits, including a solo homer, for the winners. Lynsey Billet drilled a solo homer for Northeastern. Spring Grove (6-2 overall) leads York-Adams Division II at 5-1.

YORK TECH 11, YORK CATHOLIC 1: At Spry, Tech broke open a close game by scoring eight runs in the last of the sixth. The umpires stopped the game at that point because of the 10-run rule. Shaelyn Seiple, Cheyenne Fulcher and Savannah Grimes each had two hits for the Spartans, and Fulcher, Dani Aikins and Katrina McLane drove in two runs apiece. Sinead O'Callaghan put up two hits for York Catholic. McLane held the Fighting Irish to four hits. The Spartans' right-hander struck out three and walked two.

LITTLESTOWN 18, YORK SUBURBAN 8: At Littlestown, Skye Ripple led the Thunderbolts to the York-Adams Division III victory by hitting two homers. Teammate Danielle Cashmen hit two doubles. For the Trojans, Emmy Turybury hit a homer. Littlestown improved to 5-1 in the division and is now in sole possession of first.

EASTERN 9, BERMUDI AN SPRINGS 4: At York Springs, the Golden Knights plated five runs in the top of the sixth to give them a commanding lead. Erin Kalke led the Knights with two hits, including a double, to go with three RBIs. Grace Divet had two hits, including a two-run homer in the second, for Eastern, while Lauren Reichard had two hits. For the Eagles, Paige Dennison had four hits, including a triple, while teammate Veronica McLaughlin had two hits, including a triple.
