The York Tech baseball team continued its strong start to the 2012 season on Tuesday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over visiting Fairfield.
The Spartans improved to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in York-Adams Division IV. Tech is alone in first place in the division.
Tyler Brown pitched a complete-game four-hitter for Tech, striking out 11. He also had two hits at the plate. Lucas Miller (two hits), Luke Bosley (triple, RBI) and Blake Crumbling (double, RBI) also excelled at the plate for the Spartans, who have not had a winning season since 1981.
OTHER BASEBALL
YORK CATHOLIC 14, HANOVER 3: At Hanover, the Fighting Irish erupted for 10 second-inning runs en route to the victory. Jake Krevetski had three hits for the winners, while Clint Bohn doubled. York Catholic was helped by six Hanover errors.
