The Eastern York and York Suburban track and field teams enjoyed a very successful first week of the season.

The Golden Knights and Trojans are 2-0 in York-Adams Division II in both boys' and girls' competition.

Suburban swept past visiting Dover on Thursday, with the boys winning, 94-56, while the girls triumphed, 121-28.

Eastern, meanwhile, took a pair from visiting West York, with the boys winning, 87-63, while girls rolled, 123-27.

The Trojan boys took first in 12 of 18 events. Jon Hutchinson (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Austin Torres (100, 200 dashes) each took first in two events to pace Suburban. The duo also ran legs on the winning 400-relay team. Dover's Mike LoPresti claimed the top spot in the javelin, discus and shot put.

The Suburban girls took first in 16 of 18 events. Suburban's Lauren Shrader (110, 300 hurdles), Lily Corsaro (1,600, 3,200 runs) and Bethany Miller (high jump, pole vault) each took first in two events. Shrader also ran a leg on the winning 1600-relay team, while Miller ran a leg of the winning 400-relay team.

Alec McKee led the Knight boys, scoring individual victories in the javelin, shot put and discus. Alex Cooley won the 100 and 200 dashes for Eastern, while Richard Kyte captured the 110 and 300 hurdles. Jake Kautz won the triple jump and long jump for the Knights. For the Bulldogs, Kevin Chambers won the 1,600, 800 and 3,200 runs.

Rebecah Delp and Victoria Keller led the Eastern girls, scoring three individual victories apiece. Delp won the high jump, 100 and 300 hurdles, while Keller captured the javelin, shot put and discus. Eastern received two individual victories from Katelyn Stine (100, 200) and Sara Musser (pole vault, 800).

OTHER BOYS' TRACK & FIELD

SOUTH WESTERN 88, YORK HIGH 61: At Hanover, Ryan Hertzog led the Mustangs by capturing individual victories in the 1600, 800 and 3200 runs. For the Bearcats, Kadeem Jackson won the 100 and 200 dashes, while Anderson Novalin captured the shot put and discus.

RED LION 121, SPRING GROVE 29: At Spring Grove, Andrew Menges and Ryan Knisely led the Lions by each scoring two individual victories. Menges won the 110 and 300 hurdles, while Knisely won the 100 and 200 dashes.

DALLASTOWN 128, NEW OXFORD 22: The visiting Wildcats were led by Jon Dadeboe (100 hurdles, 200, triple jump), who took first in three events, and Adam Katora (1,600, 3,200) and Jared Allison (high jump, pole vault), who each took first in two events.

YORK CATHOLIC LOSES PAIR: York Catholic fell in a tri-meet against Camp Hill, 86-61, and Fairfield, 118-30. The Fighting Irish were paced by Joe Dipiazza, who took first in the 110 hurdles, 400-meter dash and 200-meter dash.

SUSQUEHANNOCK 114, KENNARD-DALE 32: At Glen Rock, Kevin Procopio (1,600, 3,200 runs) and Brandon Webster (110 hurdles, high jump) each earned a pair of individual victories to lead the Warriors.

OTHER GIRLS' TRACK & FIELD

SOUTH WESTERN 117, YORK HIGH 32: At Hanover, Katie Harman led the Mustangs by scoring individual victories in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. For the Bearcats, Donella Nelson won the 100 and 200 dashes.

RED LION 106, SPRING GROVE 40: At Spring Grove, the Lions received two individual victories apiece from Angelica Gonzalez (100 hurdles, 400 run), Cassidy Barshinger (100, 300 hurdles) and Tierra Darden (triple jump, long jump).

DALLASTOWN 99.5, NEW OXFORD 50.5: The host Colonials were led by Kaylee Kubisiak (1,600, 3,200) and Jamila Janneh (long jump, high jump), who each took first in two events.

YORK CATHOLIC DROPS TWO: The Fighting Irish couldn't take a first-place finish in any of the events in a tri-meet against Fairfield and Camp Hill. York Catholic fell to Fairfield, 115-21, and lost to Camp Hill, 126.5-22.5.

SUSQUEHANNOCK 120, KENNARD-DALE 29: At Glen Rock, Leah Deter won both hurdles to help Susquehannock to the victory.
