Fairfield's Isaiah Logue is in solid position in his attempt to win a second-straight PIAA Class AA state boys' golf championship.

The Green Knight senior fired a 1-under-par 70 on Monday at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

That puts Logue just one shot off the lead heading into Tuesday's second-and-final round.

Northwestern Lehigh's Cole Miller leads after the first round with a 69 on the 6,525-yard layout.

Logue is three shots ahead of two golfers who are tied for third place.

Another York-Adams golfer didn't fare as well in Monday's AA boys' action. York Catholic junior Nick Geiman fired an 84 at Heritage Hills and is in 26th place in the 36-player field.

In Class AAA boys' action, two West York golfers -- senior Josh Rinehart and junior Axel Hartman -- shot identical 79s on Monday. That left them seven shots behind the leader, Manheim Township's Ryan Dornes. Rinehart and Hartman are tied for 16th in the 36-player field.

In Class AA girls' action, York Catholic junior Lauren Parrini fired a 16-over-par 88 and is tied for 11th in the 18-player field. Central Valley's Macky Fouse leads the AA girls' field after shooting a 75, which is 13 shots ahead of Parrini.

Lauren Waller leads in AAA girls after shooting a 73.

OTHER GOLF

YORKER WINS JUNIOR EVENT: York's Joe Parrini shot rounds of 81 and 80 to win the 14-and-under division in the International Junior Golf Tour event at Penn State's Blue Course.

Parrini won the tournament by two strokes. It was Parrini's fourth IJGT victory of the season.
