Mayor Kim Bracey is asking all York City residents to sign up for the Keep York Beautiful Spring Clean Up, 8-11 a.m. Saturday.

The aftermath of the winter storms has left trash along the streets, alleys and sidewalks. Residents are asked to work together to pick up the litter and remove the containers and household items that were used to save parking spaces.

To participate, pick up bags, gloves and equipment, 7:30 a.m. at the York City Hall parking lot, 101 S. George St. Volunteers will clean targeted areas from 8-10:45 a.m. Equipment is to be returned to the parking lot, 10:45-11 a.m.

Community organizations, businesses, youth groups, and families are all welcome to be a part of the initiative, designed to keep the community vibrant and beautiful.

Note: This is a litter-only cleanup, no large items. Curbside customers should call to shedule a date for the collection of household furniture and appliances at (717) 843-1240.
