A York-area business owner accused of hiring a hit man to kill his wife's lover has again been arrested for alleged involvement in a second murder-for-hire plot.

The York County District Attorney's Office announced state police troopers arrested Gregory Allen Hess on Wednesday afternoon, charging him with solicitation to commit homicide.

In a news release, Kyle King, spokesman for the district attorney's office, noted this is the second time in less than two months that Hess has been arrested for allegedly hiring someone to kill a person.

Hess, 46, of 1950 Hoff Road in North Codorus Township, was free on $10 million bail at the time of his second arrest.

In the first case, Hess, the co-owner of Keystone Restoration & Builders Inc., is accused of paying $1,900 to a man identified in court as "Informant 1" to kill Christopher Ward, who was involved with Hess' wife, Laurie Hess.

Hess was denied bail when he was arraigned Wednesday afternoon, according to court records.

Hess was denied bail because he's "charged with solicitation to kill a (confidential informant) from the first case," records state.
