State police are warning residents of an Internet scam after a Loganville man fell victim to it recently.

The man told troopers that he lost $3,500 in the scam, allegedly stemming from Tupelo, Miss., according to a news release from police.

An email address associated with the scam is claracfinley@comcast.net, police said.

Anyone making online purchases at craigslist.com and related websites should be cautious of the email address. Numerous other fraudulent postings have been found, police said.
