York City Police have released the name of the man who suffered critical injuries Sunday afternoon when he was shot in the neck and shoulder while getting out of a car in the city's Avenues neighborhood.

Vinny Reinoso, 29, of the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, was taken to York Hospital, police said. His condition could not be obtained Monday morning, but police said he was critically wounded.

York City Police Capt. Russ Tschopp said Reinoso drove onto Bruce Street -- an alley between the 400 blocks of Lincoln Street and Linden Avenue -- about 4 p.m. Sunday when two males opened fire on him, then ran off.

"It was not random," Tschopp said.

No arrests had been made as of Monday morning, the captain said, and detectives were still trying to determine the shooters' motive for targeting Reinoso.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call city detectives at (717) 849-2219, or call the city's anonymous crime tip line, (717) 849-2204. Or anonymously text a tip to YORKTIPS at 847411.
