York County's lone TGI Friday's shuttered Monday.

On Tuesday, signs hung on doors and windows of the restaurant at 1411 Kenneth Road in West Manchester Township stating it is closed.

The sign also thanked customers for their patronage and encouraged them to visit a TGI Friday's location in Mechanicsburg.

The restaurant closed for business reasons, according to a company statement emailed by Eric Bonach, TGI Friday's spokesman.

"This decision was not made lightly as we understand the impact it has on our guests who enjoyed dining at our restaurant and on our team members who worked there. We look forward to serving our guests at our many other Friday's locations in the eastern Pennsylvania area," the statement says.

TGI Friday's in owned by parent company Carlson, a family-owned global hospitality and travel company based in Minneapolis, Minn.

The company operates more than 900 TGI Friday's restaurants in over 60 counties, according to its website.

The local TGI Friday's opened its doors in the late 1990s.
