Allegheny County Health Department officials say one person has been hospitalized as a result of the disease, but she's been improving.
Health department officials notified the management at Sharpsburg Towers on Nov. 6 that the woman was sick, and that information was shared with other residents the next day. The water system has since been tested for the bacteria, and residents are being given bottled water to drink while the building's water system is purified.
About 100 people live in the building in the tiny suburb just east of the city. Nobody else has gotten sick.
