ALLENTOWN, Pa.—A police officer in northeastern Pennsylvania is charged with what prosecutors allege was an off-duty drunken disturbance last month.

The Lehigh County district attorney's office said Wednesday that 35-year-old Allentown police Officer Jeffrey Rush is facing citations of disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and criminal mischief for the Sept. 23 incident outside a local bar.

Officials said Rush broke a car window and pushed in window air conditioners in the area near the bar then went inside, where a disturbance ensued.

He has been placed on administrative leave, pending the conclusion of the internal and criminal investigations.
