CARLISLE, Pa.—A central Pennsylvania man is headed to trial on charges he inflicted injuries on his 2-month-old daughter that caused permanent brain damage.

Twenty-five-year-old Brendon Randall Groves of North Middleton Township, waived a preliminary hearing Monday and allowed all charges against him to proceed to Cumberland County Court.

Groves is charged with aggravated assault, child endangerment and related counts in the Aug. 4 incident.

Police said Groves admitted throwing his daughter, who landed head and neck first on the floor.

Doctors told investigators the girl was blind in both eyes and not expected to ever walk, talk, drink or feed herself due to the injuries she sustained.

Groves' formal arraignment was set for Nov. 14.
