WCAU-TV (http://bit.ly/14h2k8r) reports Tuesday the school district filed 25 lawsuits on July 29 in Common Pleas Court. The district is seeking up to $2 million in damages on projects done through its Capital Improvement Program.
As part of the program, firms bid on projects to rehab and repair older school district buildings and build new facilities.
District spokesman Fernando Gallard says in each case there were "deficiencies in the drawings and specifications" prepared by the architecture, design, engineering and consulting firms. No examples or other details were given.
The lawsuits come as the district looks for ways to close a $304 million budget gap.
