Indiana County Coroner Michael Baker says the autopsy confirmed that Gary Wissinger died of those gunshot wounds fired after troopers from Indiana, Pa. were sent to Wissinger's home in Brush Valley Township just after midnight Monday. That's about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh.
A state police spokesman says Wissinger allegedly came outside with a handgun and made aggressive movements toward police, prompting at least one trooper to open fire.
Wissinger's wife was in the house but was unharmed.
The troopers involved in the shooting remain on leave, which is standard procedure while the state police and district attorney's office determine whether the shooting was justified.
