The Times-Tribune reports ( http://bit.ly/12do9m3) no one was injured when flames lit up the Williams Partners LP gas compressor station in Brooklyn Township around 11 p.m. Tuesday. But investigators say the flames, along with a possible explosion caused damage to the station.
The fire was out by 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Company spokeswoman Chris Staffel says the station is still in the commissioning phase.
It marked the second fire at a Williams Partners compressor station in Susquehanna County in 14 months. In March 2012, an explosion blew a hole in the roof at a station in Springville Township. No one was hurt and the company said it was caused by worker error.
