State police in Sullivan County, N.Y., say Monday that the body was found by a group of canoeists Saturday afternoon near the border of the towns of Tusten and Highland, 85 miles northwest of New York City.
New York State Police, the National Park Service and local emergency crews responded. State troopers recovered the body and are investigating.
Troopers say the cause of death is pending an autopsy and toxicology results. Police say they'll use dental records to positively identify the body.
