Sobey, who finished with 12 points, capped a wild comeback for the Cowboys, who trailed 64-57 with 3 minutes left.
Derrious Gilmore finished with 25 points to lead Wyoming (20-13), while Larry Nance Jr. had 20.
Gabe Knutson had 23 points and Anthony D'Orazio 14 for Lehigh (21-10).
Lehigh's Mackey McKnight lost the ball to Wyoming's Josh Adams who fed Gilmore for a layup that tied it at 64 with 20.7 seconds to go. McKnight fed Knutson for a layup with 5.4 seconds to play and a 66-64 lead, but Adams raced the ball downcourt and found Sobey in the left corner for the winner.
Sobey's reverse layup broke a 49-all tie, but Conroy Baltimore's free throw and D'Orazio's 12-footer in the paint put Lehigh back up 52-51. The lead reached 58-51 after a layup by Baltimore with 7:28 left.
