PHILADELPHIA—Philadelphia police are still searching for a suspect in the fatal shooting of retired professional boxer Tony Martin.

Police say the 52-year-old Martin, a former welterweight, was shot during an argument at a home in the city's Hunting Park section on Friday. His family says he owned several properties in the city and had been trying to collect rent when he was killed.

Investigators say they are still searching for the gunman.

Martin was 34-6-1 in his boxing career, with 12 knockouts. A native of St. Louis, he later moved to the City of Brotherly Love and trained at a gym in north Philadelphia. Longtime manager Eddie Woods says Martin was "calm, cool and collected."

His lost his last fight to Julio Cesar Chavez in Las Vegas in 1997.
