TRANSFER, Pa.—An Ohio man has been charged with aggravated assault, burglary and cocaine possession for a standoff in a western Pennsylvania home during which, police say, he wounded a woman before he was shot while trading gunfire with police.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 22-year-old Jessi Hudson, of Youngstown, Ohio, who remained in the Mercer County Jail Friday unable to post $300,000 bond.

State troopers say Pymatuning (py-mah-TOON'-ing) Township police answered a 911 call and heard shots being fired within the home Wednesday night. The officer forced his way into the residence and was fired at—but not wounded—by the suspect and returned fire, wounding Hudson.

Hudson surrendered when police stormed the home hours later after tossing in pepper canisters.

He faces a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
