State police say the driver of the tanker told troopers he lost control of the vehicle around 6:30 a.m. Monday after drifting into the slush-covered shoulder of Route 62 in the Chautauqua County town of Kiantone, on the Pennsylvania border 60 miles south of Buffalo.
The truck hit the guard rail, causing the tractor to dislodge from the tank. Both the tractor and tank went down an embankment and overturned.
Troopers say none of the 7,000 gallons of diesel fuel in the tanker leaked out.
The driver, 46-year-old William Fisher of Erie, Pa., was treated at the Jamestown hospital for minor injuries.
