STRONG, Pa.—Police in central Pennsylvania say a head-on crash between a sport utility vehicle and pickup truck has killed two people and injured two others.

Mount Carmel police in Northumberland County say the crash was reported at about 12:15 p.m. Monday on Route 54 near Marion Heights.

Police said two passengers in the SUV were killed. Two other people were taken to the hospital, one by helicopter and the other by ambulance.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
