ALLENTOWN, Pa.—Jurors in a death penalty case in eastern Pennsylvania have been shown a video of the defendant being interviewed by police after the slaying of a man who was parking on a central Allentown street.

Eighteen-year-old Manuel Figueroa of Allentown is charged with homicide and reckless endangering in the Sept. 18 death of 19-year-old Daniel Velez.

The (Easton) Express-Times ( says jurors Wednesday were shown the video in which Figueroa at first says he was nowhere near the murder but later says he was there but somebody else fired at the victim.

Earlier, relatives of Velez and his girlfriend identified Figueroa as the shooter.

Prosecutors are expected to rest their case Thursday. They have said they plan to seek the death penalty if Figueroa is convicted of first-degree murder.
