The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says the driver of an eastbound tractor-trailer stopped in the highway's driving lane around 3 a.m. Thursday because another rig had jackknifed in front of him in the town of Mina, on the Pennsylvania border 70 miles southwest of Buffalo.
Deputies say the driver of a box truck was killed when he drove into the rear of the stopped tractor-trailer. The driver's name hasn't been released.
The westbound lanes between Exit 4 in Mina and Exit 7 in Sherman reopened about two hours after the crash, while the eastbound side reopened around 8 a.m.
