SHARPSBURG, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania borough has removed a woman as chairman of its recreation board now that she's been jailed on charges of having a five-month sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 45-year-old Susan Sundo, of Sharpsburg, who was arrested Tuesday on charges including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors. Allegheny County and borough police contend Sundo had sex with the boy during sleepovers at her home and other sexual contact in her vehicle on at least a dozen occasions.

The council of the tiny borough a few miles east of Pittsburgh on Tuesday voted to remove her from its recreation board, with Mayor Richard Panza saying he was "shocked" by the allegations.

Sundo remained in the county jail Wednesday and faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 16.
