BIG BEAVER, Pa.—A coroner says it will take days to confirm the identity of a badly burned body in a western Pennsylvania house fire, though authorities believe it to be that of the woman who lived there based on information from witnesses and her live-in boyfriend who is being treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

As a result, Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi isn't releasing the presumed name of the victim in the fire early Thursday in Big Beaver, about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

The fire was reported about 2 a.m. and crews found the badly burned body shortly after they arrived.

The man who escaped has been taken a Pittsburgh hospital.

A state police fire marshal has been trying to determine the cause of the fire.
