MONESSEN, Pa.—A man and his girlfriend have been charged with criminal homicide in the shooting death of a western Pennsylvania man in what authorities allege was a botched robbery earlier this month.

Nineteen-year-old Earl Pinkney of Monessen and 19-year-old Chalsee Hughes have been charged in Westmoreland County with criminal homicide, robbery and multiple conspiracy counts in the Dec. 3 death of 36-year-old Chris Fincik. Pinkney is also charged with aggravated assault.

Neighbors told Monessen police that they heard up to a dozen shots before Fincik was found shot to death near a rear door, which he apparently answered before he was slain.

A listed number for Pinkney could not be found, and a number listed for Hughes had been disconnected; it was unclear whether they had attorneys.
