Shane and Sandy Maxwell withdrew their suit Tuesday against the Slippery Rock schools. Their attorney, Barbara Ochs, declined further comment to the Butler Eagle ( http://bit.ly/129z2H6).
The Portersville couple say school officials wrongly strip-searched and suspended their daughter Tiffani over allegations that she brought drugs to school.
Tiffani fatally shot herself the day after she was given a 10-day suspension in January 2011. Her parents say she was afraid the punishment would keep her from being promoted to the next grade.
Slippery Rock superintendent Kathleen Nogay has said the Maxwells' allegations are baseless. A district spokesman could not be reached for comment Wednesday night.
