BEAVER FALLS, Pa.—A western Pennsylvania man will stand trial for criminal homicide in his wife's 1993 drowning death after a witness testified he saw the man hold the woman under water with a long-handled pool skimmer.

That witness, Jamie Darlington, was just 16 when 54-year-old Jon Lang, of Industry, allegedly killed his wife, 34-year-old Debbie Lang, in their swimming pool in June 1993.

Darlington was facing burglary charges in California when he came forward earlier this year with his recollections of the incident, when he was a house guest of the Langs.

Lang's attorney, William Difenderfer, told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ( http://bit.ly/1289edF) that Darlington's testimony at a preliminary hearing Friday was "preposterous" and "extremely shaky" but says he'll wait for the trial to specify why.

Lang remained in the Beaver County Prison without bond.
