PHILADELPHIA—Pennsylvania is on the lookout for a winter storm that could bring the first significant snowfalls of the season to much of the state.

The National Weather Service has posted storm warnings and advisories across much of the state for Tuesday. The system is expected to drop several inches of snow across many parts of the state.

The storm is expected to leave anywhere from a coating to 3 inches of snow in parts of eastern Pennsylvania. In central Pennsylvania, two to four inches at higher elevations could fall before the storm is through.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says its crews are at the ready.
