LANCASTER, Pa.—A woman has been ordered to stand trial on charges that she helped a central Pennsylvania man flee to New Jersey after authorities allege that he killed his girlfriend and her mother last summer.

The (Lancaster) Sunday News ( says a Lancaster County magistrate on Wednesday ordered 23-year-old Amber Faye Foultz of Columbia held for trial on felony counts of hindering apprehension as well as misdemeanor counts of evidence tampering and receiving stolen property.

Authorities allege that she helped 23-year-old Gary Gerlach flee to Wildwood, N.J. following the strangulation murder of Makenzie Hess and the beating death of her mother, Mona Hess, in their Leola home. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Authorities say Foultz was not involved in the slayings.
