PITTSBURGH—The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office has identified a man who was killed when he accidentally fell from a third-story fire escape balcony in a Pittsburgh neighborhood known for its bars and nightclubs.

Investigators say the dead man is 25-year-old Andrew Guzzi, of Dormont, a nearby suburb.

The medical examiner's office says Guzzi died of head trauma from the fall, which occurred Sunday about 2:30 a.m.

Authorities didn't immediately say who owned the property or why Guzzi was on the fire escape, except to say there was no fire at the time.

The incident happened on the city's South Side in an area with a high concentration of bars. Investigators haven't said if they believe the death was alcohol-related.
