Seventy-four-year-old Byron White was hit Tuesday evening outside The Gun Rack, his Rostraver Township business. White uses a wheelchair because of partial paralysis from several strokes and was near the side of the road that runs in front of his shop when he was struck. He remained in critical condition Thursday in a Pittsburgh hospital.
Police haven't released the name of the driver, but say they've identified that person after tracing the serial number of a wheel rim left at the scene of the accident, about 25 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.
Township police say the driver may have been drinking.
