Nobody was hurt in the incidents Monday night. Among the damaged buildings was an apartment building and a furniture store. The fallen bricks prompted police to close streets near both buildings until the rubble could be cleared.
About 1,000 people were reporting power outages in and around Altoona overnight. The city is about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh.
Police tell the Altoona Mirror ( http://bit.ly/SuqdTO) that two trampolines blew out of yards and were being driven along by the winds.
No serious flooding has been reported in that area.
