The honor announced Wednesday cites Nassib for excelling in the classroom, leading the Orange football team, and staying involved in community activities.
NFF scholar-athletes get scholarships to help with graduate school tuition and they're eligible for the William V. Campbell Trophy, presented to the top scholar-athlete in college football.
Nassib, of West Chester, Pa., is the fifth member of the Orange to receive the honor. He joins offensive tackle Mark Baniewicz (1999), defensive tackle Tim Green (1985), linebacker Tony Romano (1983) and halfback Gerhard Schwedes (1959).
Nassib has 2,164 passing yards this season. His 309.7 yards per game ranks ninth in the nation and leads the Big East.
