MOUNT LEBANON, Pa.—Some students consider school to be a grind, but one Pittsburgh-area school district says a bigger problem is some student couples "grinding" it out on the dance floor.

Mount Lebanon High School principal Brian McFeeley ( http://bit.ly/RV8faG) tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that school officials are adding chaperones and even changing the kind of music played at school dances to enforce a no-grinding policy.

Grinding is a sexually suggestive form of dancing in which couples dance front-to-back while their hips rub against one another—generally with the male standing behind the female.

Some students say the school would better focus on underage drinking and drug use. School officials say they're doing that, too, and that their concerns about grinding are just one part of an overall approach to cut down on problems at dances.
