HARRISBURG, Pa.—An 84-year-old former Pennsylvania lawmaker is facing two additional charges of corruption.

A federal grand jury in Scranton accuses former state Sen. Raphael Musto of taking $25,000 in cash from a construction contractor who had worked on his property. It says Musto tried to use his influence in state government to help the contractor.

The former Pittston lawmaker also faces charges that he accepted thousands in cash from someone affiliated with municipal authorities in northeastern Pennsylvania. The cash was allegedly a reward for his assistance in helping the municipal authorities obtain loans and grants.

Musto was first indicted in November 2010, a week before his planned retirement. A new indictment was filed Wednesday in Harrisburg.

Musto's attorney did not respond to a request for comment on the latest charges.
