The Observer-Reporter of Washington, Pa. (http://bit.ly/RZhSrd) reports 120 potential jurors will appear Tuesday for possible selection in the trial of 57-year-old David Allan McClelland of Coal Center.
He's charged with stabbing 92-year-old Evelyn Stepko on July 17, 2011 after stealing more than $170,000 from her over a two-year span.
McClelland rejected a plea deal to life in prison earlier this year, saying he'd only agree to it all charges in the case against his wife and son were dropped.
Police say his wife, 49-year-old Diane McClelland, and their son, 36-year-old David James McClelland, a former police officer, knew about the stolen money and helped plan Stepko's murder. They're to be tried later.
