CHESTER, Pa.—Prosecutors say an Oct. 15 preliminary hearing is now scheduled for six teenagers accused in the videotaped beating of a mentally challenged woman on her stoop in a struggling city outside Philadelphia.

The teenagers, all but one of them juveniles, were arrested last week in connection with the assault in Chester. Investigators say the teens apparently attacked the woman for "fun." They are charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, burglary and harassment.

A hearing Monday was continued. All six teens remain in custody.

Prosecutors identified the adult suspect as 19-year-old Takia Nicole Edwards. A telephone listing for her could not be found and it wasn't clear if she had an attorney.

The victim was punched, kicked and hit with a shoe and chair. She suffered cuts and bruises but no broken bones.
