ERIE, Pa.—Police in northwestern Pennsylvania say a pair of shootings on Erie's east side claimed the life of one man and injured two others.

The Erie Times-News ( http://bit.ly/W3h2KF) says gunfire broke out a little after midnight on a city street, leaving a man dead.

A second man was taken to UPMC Hamot, where he was in the intensive care unit. His condition was not immediately available.

A second shooting happened near a bar at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. One man shot in the leg was taken to Saint Vincent Health Center.

Police say they are still investigating both shootings and have not reported any arrests.
