WILKES-BARRE, Pa.—The 2013 Breeders Crown harness racing series will be held again next year at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Luzerne County.

The announcement posted on the U.S. Trotting Association website says the series will be held at the Plains Township track on Oct. 19, 2013.

Dale Rapson, Mohegan Sun vice president of racing operations, calls the event the "Super Bowl of harness racing."

The track hosted the series in October 2010 and was the first to host all 12 races in one night.

Sam Beegle, president of the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen's Association, said the organization would award a $1 million bonus if the same horse wins the Earl Beal Jr. Memorial Trot, the Colonial Trot and the Breeders Crown 3-year-old Colt Trot.
