PHILADELPHIA—A deluded plant worker who thought co-workers were spraying her with toxic chemicals has been sentenced to two consecutive life prison terms for a shooting rampage in a Kraft Foods plant in Philadelphia two years ago.

Forty-five-year-old Yvonne Hiller was convicted earlier this month of first-degree murder in the September 2010 slayings of 36-year-old Tatonya Brown and 47-year-old Tanya Wilson.

The Philadelphia Inquirer ( http://bit.ly/Q2FebG) says Commonwealth Court Judge Benjamin Lerner said Monday that the consecutive sentences would have no practical effect but were intended as "a symbolic statement" about the value of the lives lost.

Hiller had been suspended in September 2010 after making violent threats against co-workers but returned with a gun and opened fire.

Forty-one-year-old Bryant Dalton, who was wounded, said his life "was basically destroyed."
