PHILADELPHIA—Police say a teenager shot while sitting on the front stoop of a south Philadelphia home has died.

Authorities said the 16-year-old was shot in the head, chest and thigh shortly before 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Point Breeze neighborhood.

The youth was taken to Thomas Jefferson University hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 6:15 p.m.

Officers told the Philadelphia Daily News that the victim was sitting on a stoop when someone opened fire on him.

Police had no word about the arrest of any suspects.
