ALLENTOWN, Pa.—Police have found nothing dangerous after investigating a suspicious person report that led to the evacuation of a high school in Allentown.

Police responded to Parkland High School on Friday evening after reports of a suspicious person in the building. Police cruisers, armored vehicles and SWAT teams gathered at a command post in the school's parking lot. Later, officials said they located the person, but said he wasn't a threat.

School Board President Jayne Bartlett says it turned out to be a young man working out in a camouflage vest. She says he had water bottles filled with sand that someone mistook for a weapon.

Students who were inside the building say they were initially "locked down" before being told to leave. School activities were canceled Friday night.
