JOHNSTOWN, Pa.—Authorities say a man was wounded by police after he opened fire in a parking lot outside a western Pennsylvania police department.

Prosecutors say 45-year-old Johnstown resident Kevin McGee began firing shots outside the Richland Township Police Department around 10:30 a.m. Thursday and was shot by a responding officer.

District Attorney Kelly Callihan says McGee shot into a police cruiser. The Tribune-Democrat of Johnstown reports ( http://bit.ly/PxQrEk) McGee was then taken to a hospital for treatment, but his condition wasn't immediately released.
