BELLEFONTE, Pa.—Officials say Interstate 80 is open again in central Pennsylvania after a trailer hauling gunpowder and ammunition caught fire, causing some of the shells to explode.

Fire officials say it took a couple hours for lanes to be completely cleared after the fire Sunday night in Boggs Township, near State College.

A neighbor told the Centre Daily Times ( http://bit.ly/P73T1D) the exploding shells sounded like gunfire.

Firefighters say three people in the pickup pulling the trailer suffered only minor injuries.
