WILLOW STREET, Pa.—Authorities in central Pennsylvania say a missing toddler has been found sleeping in a cornfield not far from her home.

Police say they found the girl Friday morning. She's about 3 years old and had been missing from outside her home in Pequea Township since about 8 p.m. Thursday.

Southern Regional police Chief John Fiorill said authorities began looking for her around 1 a.m., not long after the family called for help.

Police, firefighters, community members, helicopters and dogs were used in the search.
