PHILADELPHIA—Authorities say a mother of nine was found shot to death in an alley in north Philadelphia.

Police said the 46-year-old woman was found shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday in the alley in the Nicetown section of the city.

Investigators said she had been shot once in the back of the head. Medics pronounced her dead just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Relatives told WCAU-TV that the victim had lived in the neighborhood all of her life and was well-liked.
